Ladyjacks place multiple players on first team for fourth consecutive season.

FRISCO, Texas - Senior Lauren Railey and freshman MC Bottles were named to the All-Southland Conference first team the league announced on Tuesday, with junior Ashley Bailey and sophomore Laurel Kuepker each earning honorable mention honors for the first time.

It is the fourth consecutive season that SFA has placed multiple players on the All-SLC first team, with the Ladyjacks having placed 12 players overall on the first team since 2004.

The honor is a career culmination for Railey, who has put together one of the most complete and standout careers in the history of Ladyjack volleyball. It is her second consecutive All-SLC first team selection, after earning second team honors in 2006 and third team honors in 2005 in addition to being named the 2005 SLC Freshman of the Year.

She finished this year ranked in the top fourth in the SLC in kills with a 3.29 per set average, and service aces with a 0.39 per set average, and closed out the year playing her best volleyball of the season, hitting double-figure kills in each of her last 10 matches. She also pulled out double-doubles in seven of those 10 matches.

Railey will finish her career ranked in the top five at SFA in career kills, attacks and digs and the top 10 in service aces. Earlier this season she became the first ever Ladyjack, and only the eighth player in the history of the SLC to accumulate 1,500 kill and 1,500 digs in her career.

"She's very deserving of first team all conference," head coach Debbie Humphreys said. "She has been very consistent, especially recently she has just been playing some great volleyball. Lauren has just been handling a huge chunk of passing and offensive load, and for her to go out as a first team selection, I think she is very deserving after the career she has had."

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Ground control to Major Tom: Last week we played our last pair of home matches until the conference tournament. Thursday night we played Northwestern, who we pretty much destroyed in three in what seemed like record time. I do not like these Thursday games because I keep missing the Office. Luckily, however, my parents have them all on Tivo so I can watch them over Thanksgiving!

Friday afternoon we had practice, and then some Girl Scout troops came by for a short clinic. The girls were precious, even though I did not do much since I do not really know how to deal with kids. I recognized a few girls from the beginner camp in the summer, and there was one girl who was like a miniature Sydney Milburn, as she absolutely loved doing the splits whenever she got the chance.

Saturday it was senior night, and what a great senior night it was! We were set to play Central Arkansas at 4pm, with a short reception following the match for Ray and me. The game was pretty much on the side of terrible, especially for me, and we lost in three. To their credit, the Sugar Bears played well.

After the match, there was a brief moment honoring Ray and me, and then we headed up to the Murray Shaw room for the reception. Mrs. Havard made some absolutely fabulous cake that was fresh out of the oven, which I shared with my family and was gone in about two minutes. We really appreciated everyone who came out and/or gave us gifts or cards. It is good to know there are people that can look beyond the game. I know I played the worst game of my life, all I wanted was to forget about it, and the reception helped me remember the good times.

But, my dearest friends, the night was not over. After the reception, we had about an hour-long meeting in the locker room. Tears were shed, but I think everyone

This week we go to Louisiana to play the final three games of the regular season against McNeese, Nicholls, and Southeastern. I am tired of writing these after losing, so hopefully we will put the hurt on these teams so I can have something good to write about. Recent info from Intel depicts a little more time until the Nehalem release thus extending the market on the current offerings. Nvidia has ramped up it's core offering to 216 on the 260 series card thus providing a serious heavywieght for the under $300 field, imagine three of those bad boys at work. EVGA continues on it quest to improve the overclocking of it's 700 series mobos with increase voltage controling and cooling. The future...well we will see......:)

When I first started this blog my intent was to find others like myself, venturing through the world of computer builders, and clockers looking to exchange information. While I have had some deviation it is still the true bases of this blog. I seek others in the field of exploration into the unknown of how far we can push the limits of what the market provides us with reference to gear, aka mobos, cpu's, gpu's and such.
I had intended this as a gathering place to share thoughts and info in order to reach the ever chase able 5.oGhz realm. Ah what a number, and you know we all seek it.
It is closer than we think. Just imagine 8 cores of hyper threading tech ( translates into 16 cores) and upto L3 cache, and it's just around the Christmas time border.
The mobos for the more than 1k count pins should prove interesting also, and heaven forbid what nvidia has in store fore the graphics story.
These are the things dreams are made of, and i can't wait for mine to come true.

Terror On The Bench

For those of you who invest in building your on computer, you know the cost involved. While a some what simple gamer can run many hundreds of dollars, the price only increases from there. That being said we all understand the investment we incur and wisely so seek to protect our investment.
Three days ago I had walked over near my computers carrying a bottle by its neck when it slipped from my hand. The resulting crash with the floor sent liquid in every direction, however the majority seemed to aim itself at my expose computer bench. This was an evga overclocked system for playing with. The entire system shutdown upon impact with the liquid as did my stomach. Rather large dollar signs went swirling about my head as i could only watch the disaster unfold. After extensive analyzing I disassembled all components,2 graphics cards, 5 hard drives, 2gb memory, sound card,wireless card, power supply, and countless connections. I carefully blew everything dry and allowed the system in all to dry under force air for two days. Fortunately my beloved board and all her components went back together and fired, well not right up as it had a mild cardio, however all is well and running fine.
As for me I'm in intensive care (local beer store) and certain that liquid and my many efforts, both monetarily and labor will not be lost to such and endeavour again.

DALLAS, Texas - After dropping a tough match to Montana in the middle match of the SMU Radisson Classic, the Ladyjack volleyball team rebounded in comeback fashion to defeat the host SMU Mustangs 3-2 at Moody Coliseum.

It is the fourth consecutive time SFA (3-3) has beaten the Mustangs (4-3), including a five-set win in Nacogdoches last season. SFA earned the tournament title with the win due to Friday's head-to-head win over New Orleans.

The match was a coming-out party of sorts for freshman middle blocker MC Bottles, who responded to her first significant playing time of her career with 16 kills and three blocks and was placed on the all-tournament team after the match. Senior Lauren Railey also contributed 16 kills for SFA on 61 attacks, moving past former teammate Traci Rohde into sole possession of eighth place at SFA in kills with 1,311. She was named tournament MVP after registering 47 kills in the three matches.

DALLAS, Texas - The Ladyjack volleyball team came out on fire, but could not withstand a scrappy group of Grizzlies as Montana pulled out a 3-1 (15-25, ....) win in SFA's second match of the SMU Radisson Invitational.

The SFA senior tandem of Shelly Swendig and Lauren Railey combined for 37 kills between them as SFA tallied more in the kill column as a team than Montana, 64-63. However, the Grizzlies hit .279 over the final three sets compared to SFA's .203 clip.

Final Stats

LEXINGTON, Ky. - It only took one match for the Ladyjack volleyball team to get in the win column as Shelly Swendig turned in an opening day double-double in a sweep of Western Carolina 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-18) on the campus of the University of Kentucky.

The match was the first ever against Western Carolina for SFA and the win gives SFA six season-opening wins in the last eight years.

Things were never in doubt as the Ladyjacks easily won the race to 25 in the first set, hitting at a .286 clip for the frame. SFA finally opened things up in the set behind the serve of sophomore libero Laurel Kuepker, using two kills by Lauren Railey in a seven-point run to open up an 18-11 lead. The Catamounts answered with three kills of their own from three different players, but Arielle Daron was there for the Ladyjacks on the next two points, teaming up with Railey and then setter Whitney Schott for back-to-back blocks. Overall, SFA tallied six of the final seven points in the frame to close things out."

SFA placed a pair of players on the all-tournament team, seniors Lauren Railey and Shelly Swendig.

On The Local Front

....Grindjunkie has reportedly surfaced after an absent period on the post front. Rumor has it that he was set aback due to Sally Jean Brown ( aka asdo, aka el gringgette, aka cheek pincher, aka donut thief )stealing his lunch money ( serves him right ). Sources report that the two were spotted robbing hub caps off of parked cars, and rolling street people. The later off which were confused as gridjunkie ( aka toad ) disguised himself as one of there clan to lure them to back alleys were his accomplice (el gringgette ) awaited in the shadows. One victim was able to provide the grid police with a vary accurate description of the duo. A wide sweeping varmint hunt is currently underway.
One more note: Was that bondo I saw on his car?

It would seem the movement for multi graphics is moving on along. Nvidia has released it's Force Within! driver, games, and physx software package. There are a few toys with this Force Within! package as well. We hope three way support for other nvidia cards is right around the corner.

Velociraptor in raid

I have A new build as followsEVGA 780i sli A1-Q9450-wD VELOCI RAPTOR
My problem comes when I try to load my OS in raid. I get numerous and varied BSODs. I have updated drivers for everything and attempted A number of reloads. The system runs fine on one drive but will not load with stability in raid. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

After a little time and pampering I find i am able to bring the processor up to a stable clock speed of 4150 mgz. Not bad. This certainly speeds up a lot of applications, not to mention my game time. My first gaming several years ago started with flight simulators, I have since gone to FPS such as crysis, and quake 4
, of which i am fond of. My gaming interest is growing and has gone far beyond what i have listed
but thats another story.

As i had already been gaming to some degree, i thought it time to jump into the world of overclocking. This is not a new thing to many, however i have not seen a lot of information out there to depict success levels. I see the occasional post of numbers, but feel information and results of same lack somewhat. On my first overclock build I started with an evga 680i board ( a rather good choice), intel E6750, and evga 8800gts card. Finding all the ins and out was a testament to hair pulling, and other frustating endeavors. Through all the searching about this board noone seemed to publish very much info on getting the max from this combo, for that matter any combo including the 680i. Since those earlier days more has surfaced, ofcourse I have move up to the 780i as well. One forum I later found has some good information on it. Click Here! Though this came to late for me. It is always good to find reference material. If you have found additional information please leave on this post. Information is knowledge, let’s share.

8800GT and 3-way SLI

I remember reading back before the release of th 9 series nvidia card, of drivers to support 8800gt cards in a 3 way configuration. Seems a smart move on the money market, however i have not seen anything as of yet.

Years ago i first started read about overclocking. Never thinking one day i might indulge in that realm. My first thoughts in the early days was a question of why people clocked. I now know it is an addiction of sorts, and brother breakout the straight jackets. I have managed some crazy numbers on five seperate rigs now, and am looking forward to more. I am however amazed at the information available online as it seem minimal and skechty at best (hanging on to those secrets i guess).
I can say the 4.0+ club is an amazing place to play in.
